Junior Public Safety Academy
Junior Public Safety Academy is a joint venture between the Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Fire Department. Fifty local youth participate in a five-day seminar designed to provide a hands-on experience in the area of law enforcement, firefighting and emergency medical response. The participants experience meaningful and positive interactions with Police Officers, Firefighter/Paramedics and the community.
Kids Safety Academy
The Pasadena Police Department, in conjunction with the Pasadena Fire Department, proudly hosts a multi-week program that engages children (ages 6 to 12) and their parents in safety awareness. Classes are presented by police and fire employees demonstrating what to do in case of an emergency. By participating in this program, children learn the basics in safety, learn to build the confidence necessary to react to dangerous situations, and knowledge to seek help in cases of emergency. Classes are held at the Police Department, Fire Station, Caltech, and Pasadena Boys and Girls Club.
Small Community Grants are periodically awarded by the Foundation to Pasadena-based charitable organizations providing services to the youth in our community.
The Foundation also makes it possible for Pasadena Police Department personnel to represent the department at community-sponsored events and fundraisers through the purchase of event tickets.
