Books ’n Cops Program
Building Community, One Story at a Time
The Books ’n Cops Program is a community outreach initiative by the Pasadena Police Department in partnership with the Pasadena Public Library. It is designed to connect officers with local youth through the power of reading. The program brings police officers into schools, libraries, and community events to read books with children, share stories, and spark conversations about friendship, trust, and making positive choices.
Through Books ’n Cops, officers aim to build meaningful relationships with young readers while promoting literacy and a lifelong love of learning. Each event provides an opportunity for children to see police officers as caring and approachable community members who are invested in their success both inside and outside the classroom.
The Pasadena Police Department’s Books ’n Cops Program helps strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community—one story at a time.
